Live Sessions
Want to improve your songwriting skills?
Join us for two interactive songwriting sessions (via zoom), where we'll share skills we've learnt that have drastically improved our writing.
You'll walk away inspired with new skills you have already applied & understand on the sessions!
Session 1
Weds 22nd July
We'll workshop 2 lyric writing techniques that opened up our songwriting, and created great audience connection through our lyrics.
You'll walk away with new skills and some writing of your own from this session.
Session 2
Weds 29th July
We'll share the process of our songwriting through 2 song examples.
You'll have some 'ah-ha' moments of recognition, as well as get to workshop 2 new skills we've used directly in our own writing.
Book Both Sessions!
If you want to join both sessions at a discounted rate you can do that here too!

Session 1
Lyric Writing
In this session we actively explore two techniques that draw in your listener, and have them experience what you're writing about.
You'll get the chance to use these techniques yourself in the workshop, and you may be surprised how much flows out of you!
Engaging your senses
You might find out you've got more senses than you thought!
This framework will give you new angles to look from in your songwriting, and is IDEAL if you've ever felt stuck, or that perhaps you've already said everything you wanted to say... but you still need another verse or bridge!
Show don't tell
Just like there's a difference getting to see Antarctica for yourself - versus having somebody tell you about it... There's a big difference in the impact of our writing when listeners discover their own experience through our words.
Q & A
The session wraps up with a question and answer session. This usually brings out some extra gold as we dive deeper into specific questions or ideas.
Session 2
Songwriting Processes
In this session we share different approaches to songwriting that we've used, and break down how we've started and then completed songs using two direct examples from our own catalogue.
This session often has some 'ah-ha' moments of recognition as you get to see the processes behind the songs, and you'll also get to workshop 2 new concepts that you can apply straight away to your own writing.
If you've ever judged yourself for how you write, this session is for you!
There is no right way
Is there a best way, and do artists typically write following the same structure?
You'll get to see the varied approaches we've used, and hear the stories of how those songs evolved after the initial idea was born. A behind-the-scenes chat of the details that normally get glossed over.
2 x New Tools for writing
You will get to put pen to paper and workshop two specific ideas that have helped us get 'unstuck' when completing our own songs. These become tools in your own songwriting kit you can also use.
Q & A
The session wraps up with a question and answer session. This usually brings out some extra gold as we dive deeper into specific questions or ideas.

Freq Asked Questions!
What if I miss it or can't make the sessions?
No worries at all. You will receive the recording of both sessions, available for 30 days afterwards so you can either review the session you attended - or catch all the bits you missed if you missed it!
Do I need to play an instrument?
No. You're likely to pick up your instrument after these sessions, but it's not a requirement.
Can I join from overseas?
Of course! These sessions are held via Zoom and can be accessed from anywhere in the world. Please check your timezone to make sure you're ready on time.
I'm nervous to share my writing - will I need to?
You aren't required to share anything if you don't wish to. There will be opportunities to share writing and get feedback if you would like, and we'll wrap with questions and answers at the end of each session. Feel free to engage as much as suits, or simply join, take notes, and listen in.
Why should I learn from you?
Great question! We're two songwriters who have spent plenty of time honing our craft and learning skills that have helped us in our own music careers. These live sessions are about passing those on.
We aren't pretending to have all of the answers of course - but we've had some wins with the tools we'll be sharing, and we think that you'll have some too if you apply them!
